She Came By

Those Days_Daniel Gonzalez Fuster

She came by just the other day-
asking about you
I gave her your number with a smile and said-
he’s expecting your call

She lifted her eyes to the ceiling, saying-
thank god he’s still waiting
It’s been too long-
and I’m coming home

It’s lonely at night with those stars to yourself-
It’s a cold winter day without a lover

With a spring in her step she suddenly-
disappeared from view
I guess she was back out-
walking those streets again

But caught up in the moment she left behind-
a faded photograph of you
And scrawled on the back of it-
were a few simple lines

It’s lonely at night with those stars to yourself-
It’s a cold winter day without a lover

Those long summer days are full of dreams-
but memories melt away
There was a woman who loved a man-
but couldn’t find her way

And she came by just the other day-
asking about you
I gave her the message and said-
you just couldn’t stay

It’s lonely at night with those stars to yourself-
It’s a cold winter day without a lover
